VERY NICE THE HOTEL ! THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD AND THE STAFF VERY FRIENDLY !I RECOMMEND !THE WERENT NEW, THE MAINTENANCE WAS VERY GOOD.ENTARTEINMENT ACTIVIES WORDERFUL !EXCELENT SURPRISE 1IBERO STAR ALWAYS GREST EXPERIENCE.I HOPE TO BE BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

We have just spent 2 wonderful weeks at Iberostar Tucan Playa del Carmen and I really recommend this resort. The resort is amazing for everyone especially if you have children with wild animals roaming about such as monkeys, lemurs, birds simply amazing. The food was delicious, always with a different theme and make it a point to book the Japanese restaurant, excellent ambience and very good food. We had a great time at the beach and at the pool and always found a place where to relax! We also went on a number of excursions booked from the hotel and the service was excellent. One last comment about the Entertainment Team and the Kids Club, you are such a dedicated team with keeping the guests and the children happy! A big shoutout to Alejandro from the entertainment team who is charming, funny and always finds time for a quick chat and a joke, you are amazing keep it up Alejandro xxxx We will definitely be back to Ibertostar Tucan to continue discovering beautiful Mexico. Nice Vacation. I liked the layout of the resort and the mini jungle and animals. The flowers were very pretty throughout the resort. The staff was nice. The food in the restaurants was ok/good. The buffet food was better but it was crowded and loud. The shows were disappointing compared to other resorts. The room was small but clean but the temperature would not go lower than 70 degrees. The beach got crowded quickly and you need to get your spot early. My boys liked the snack bar closest to the beach. While the staff was nice, I thought they were lacking in small details such as quickly picking up trash/plates/glasses. When we walked around, we would often see dirty items left sitting around. I thought the pools seemed dirty. The beach was very pretty. We were there over Christmas week and the resort was decorated beautifully. I was concerned about being gone over Christmas but the resort made you feel in the Christmas spirit. My teens and husband enjoyed the sports bar to watch the football games. The main negative was that when we tried to make a reservation for dinner, we were talked to about joining their timeshare membership. It felt like a real bait and switch and we did not appreciate that after spending money to be an all inclusive. I did not appreciate the hard pressure sell to get us to join the group.

The staff were very friendly and helpful! The room was spacious. We had three people stay in the room. Due to having a heat "stroke" on the 2nd day there, your lobby receptionist, at the time, was very helpful and attentive. She provided me with a "homemade" pedialyte drink as well as giving me a towel full of ice. She SAVED my life that night!! Also, Chef Dafne provided me with a meal that night, even though the kitchen or restaurants were closing and the room service was closed at that time. Also your restaurant staff: Martin, Jose, Omar were very attentive to my group! THANK YOU!!!!!

I would like to preface this review with the fact that this is our favorite resort in Playa Del Carmen. We have been coming here for years and each time it has surpassed our expectations. This was our first time back after a 6 year intermission and the service, food, and grounds were just as amazing as we remembered. I know that COVID has changed and hurt a lot of hotels... however, the heart and soul of this resort, the part that we always came back with the most memories of, and the part that we were looking forward to the most again was their entertainment. Unfortunately, their entertainment has taken a HUGE hit from the last time we were there. Their entertainment used to be AMAZING, with a choreographed and comedic performance every night created by the Star Friends. Each show was preceded by a game where they invited guests to participate. And before the game, they had a live band sing music while inviting their guests to dance. Now they have karaoke every other night (which we personally did not like), and their live singers aren't captivating enough to get you dancing. The FEW night shows that we saw were great... but they used to be great EVERY night.We were informed while we were there that Iberostar hired a US company to do a lot of their entertainment and let their previous entertainers go. This is SUCH a shame. We could tell that most of the singers were not from the area, which was disappointing because the music they sang made you feel like you were in Miami and not in Mexico (mostly in English and very limited latin classics). I really hope they rehire their own entertainment and help restore the old Iberostar that we all know and love. Overall, great trip and will probably still go back because of the memories we had of the hotel.... but if you are going back with the expectations that Iberostar Tucan is still what it was 6-10 years ago you may be disappointed.
